Frequently asked questions.
What’s the maximum number I can book a meal for?
We can comfortably seat 36 people across multiple tables in our top room. We’ll require a preorder of any starters and mains at least 48 hours prior to your booking.
Can I hire the whole pub/garden for a private event?
For various dull logistical reasons we don’t offer private hire at the Fleur De Lys. We can, however, recommend Lowsonford Village Hall if you’re planning a bit of a do, which is beautifully situated next to the canal just a stone’s throw away from the pub.
Can I bring my dog?
The Fleur De Lys is a very dog-friendly pub, with dog treats, dog ice cream and plenty of cuddles on tap! Dogs are welcome in our lower bar and throughout the garden. We do ask you to let us know in advance if you’re bringing a dog so that we can allocate you a dog-friendly table.
Do you allow walk-ins or is it bookings only?
We’ll always try to accommodate as many people as possible but we do love it when you book as it helps us plan ahead! Weekends get really busy at the Fleur De Lys so we strongly recommend you make a reservation in advance if you know you want to visit us. During the week you will be able to find a perfect spot without a booking.
Can I reserve an outdoor table at the Fleur De Lys?
All of our tables in the garden are first-come-first served but with over 40 tables available outside you won’t be short of options!
Can we moor our boat nearby?
Yes! The Fleur De Lys country pub is ideally located between lock 30 and 31/bridge 40 and 41 of the Stratford Upon Avon canal, where there are plenty of temporary moorings available on the towpath side. Then it’s just a one minute walk over whichever bridge you choose to get to the pub.
Do you do Sunday roasts?
We do indeed, with options of beef, pork, chicken or veggie wellington available at the Fleur De Lys on Sundays. See our Sunday menu here.
Do you cater for dietary requirements?
We do and we’ve tried to make our menu as accessible as possible for those with dietary considerations, so you will always be able to tell which dishes are suitable. For more complex requirements please feel free to let us know in advance of your visit and speak to one of the team when you arrive so that we can ensure you enjoy the best pub grub The Fleur has to offer.
Why do I need to preorder?
We ask for preorders for groups of 10 or more in order to give the kitchen team a head start and speed up service for you all. We also suggest pre-ordering roast dinners to avoid disappointment as they can sometimes run out towards the end of a busy day. Get in touch with us here.
What time do you open?
We usually open at 10am, so feel free to join us for tea and cake! The kitchen opens for food service from 12pm.
What time do you close?
The Fleur De Lys usually closes at 10pm, and food service finishes at 8pm. Opening times vary on Bank Holidays and are subject to change at the management’s discretion without prior notice.
Can you recommend a local walk?
There are so many beautiful public footpaths around the Fleur De Lys in Lowsonford, not to mention the endless possibility of the Stratford-Upon-Avon canal towpath that you’re really spoilt for choice. Pick up one of our ‘Explore Our Village’ pamphlets when you’re in the pub for one of our favourite circular walks along Potato Lane through Bushwood.
Are you a family-friendly pub?
The Fleur De Lys welcomes pub groupies of all ages, from the freshest newborns to the family elders who remember coming to The Fleur back in the day for a pie served through the kitchen hatch! We have an acre of garden and an enclosed play area for children to let off some steam, highchairs available on request, colouring if you want it and a secret shelf of abandoned toys if all other forms of entertainment fail.
What accessibility do you have?
Due to the historic nature of the building, there are several uneven flights of steps throughout the pub and many tight corners. Both the gents and ladies toilets have one cubicle with grab rails but we are still campaigning for a fully accessible toilet.
Can I park at the Fleur De Lys?
Parking is not a problem at the Fleur as we have a huge car park abutting an even bigger field for overflow parking. There are two accessible spaces closest to the pub entrance.
Can I take a Fleur De Lys pie home with me?
All the Lowsonford Pies you see on our menus are available to takeaway, chilled or frozen, for just £6. They’re perfect for stocking up the freezer!
