reservations

We get pretty busy in the evenings and throughout the weekend, so we’d encourage you to reserve a table if you know that you’re coming in. Additionally, if you are visiting with a large group, advanced booking is imperative.

That being said, we are not a restaurant and, as such, do not expect every visitor who turns up to have a reservation. The pub is not segregated between diners and drinkers and tables are not laid up in advance – we believe in fostering a relaxed environment, so if you do decide to eat we will bring you everything you need.

Please note that we do not reserve outside tables, simply because the garden is too vast to keep an eye on. However, with over 30 tables outside we’re sure that you’ll be able to find somewhere to sit.

On busy days when the sun is out and the pub is at its most picturesque we tend to get pretty packed. As a result, there can often be a waiting time on food as our kitchen team sprint around trying to serve the hungry masses, so please be patient with us!

Dogs are welcome in the lower bar area – please let us know at the time of booking if you’re bringing a canine friend so that we can ensure you are seated at an appropriate table.

Likewise, if you require a high chair then do just let us know so that we can accommodate our youngest diners!

For those with mobility issues, we recommend a table in our top room where there are fewer steps to contend with. Unfortunately, due to the historic nature of the building, we do not currently have disabled facilities.
